MEDICAL REFERRAL VIA INTERNET - OBTAINED FROM DIGINET BRAZIL

Many of our clients have ask us to 'refer' them to doctors and dentists in Brazil for specialized treatment. Medical services are not our business .. by listing a doctor professional on this page, neither Andetur nor it's managers or agents have any responsibility for any services requested or performed. This is only an answer to specific requests. Our NGO/ONG Association ABTC-BRASIL (Andetur Brazilian Travel Club) only arranges contact.

You may contact any one listed here directly by phone (we can send you the telephone numbers), or in some cases by email. Or you may contact Donald directly by his USA direct telephone in Houston, Texas. Or by email at andetur@yahoo.com

Direct phone - (832) 727-7299

The only service in conjuction with these medical services that Andetur as a tour operator might perform would be the furnishing of travel arrangements, accommodations, and local transportation.

Note: Seniors that travel outside the US frequently and for long periods need to make sure they are informed about their health insurance limitations. With very few exceptions, Medicare is limited to care provided within the United States. Medicare HMOs will cover emergencies abroad, but not routine medical care. Most "Medigap" policies will cover 80% of emergency care costs, but not routine care. Prices vary from USD 100 to 300 per month based on the plan's features, so shopping around is a must. Andetur has available several options of Medical and Travel Insurance.

Health Care in Latin America (Brazil) - It's better than you think ~ as a patient you have so much more freedom because your health care is literally in your own hands. In Latin America you can walk into a lab and ask for any test that you'd like without a doctor's order, or go into any pharmacy and buy whatever medication you'd like without a prescription. When your tests results come back you go and pick them up and show them to your doctor not, vice versa. Your doctor will have you keep your x-rays, ultra-sounds etc., they are yours not his and you can do whatever you like with them, including show them to another doctor.

Personal reference - Several years ago, I had over $ 10,000 worth of dental work done for US$ 1,500. We have had members and clients do extensive cosmetic surgery while 'on vacation' .... And my wife Edna had eye surgery for less than 10% of the stateside costs. I am presently scheduled for eye surgery (cataracts) - Capt. Donald
