The breeze and marine currents lend themselves to fishing and water sports. There is a small ferry that transports buggies and cars across the entrance of the Lagoa Guaira. This ferry now allows you to drive south from Natal along the beaches without having to go inland around the Lagoa Guaira. |

To live in Pipa is to co-exist with nature. Patrolled by dolphins and tortoises, and surrounded by wild forest, Pipa is beautiful and has a diverse international population. This is just one of its many attractions. There are several foriegn owned pousadas in Pipa and the praia has been developed mostly for tourists from Europe. Pipa has long been a favorite hideaway for 'savvy' Europeans.

Pipa itself consists of about fifty or sixty simple houses, about 20 pousadas, and a growing number of cafés and bars, all perched on a bluff overlooking the beach.

ACCOMMODATIONS - Pousadas and Guest Houses -Pipa Beach (Praia do Pipa) is unique and is a favorite location for surfing, swimming with the dolphins, and just general beach fun. Many of the guest houses are owned by Europeans. NOTE: You can also rent a fisherman's house and sling your hammock, or camp at various spots throughout the village.
