Baía Formosa is a medium-sized fishing town providing access to some 20 km of stunningly beautiful beach, extending all the way south to the border with Paraíba state.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Pousada dos Golfinhos             Approx.     US$ 25

Pousada Sonho Meu                              US$ 25 - 40

South of Baia Formosa -

There are several small beach areas that haven't yet been developed for tourism.  The beach is totally unspoiled all the way to Paraíba.

The waves are just big enough to pegar jacaré (body surf) and the area is attracting lots of Brazilian surfers during the summer *. Despite the direct bus service and its growing reputation as a surfing mecca, tourism is still fairly low-key.

* NOTE: Remember, their summer is winter time USA ...........
