In Noronha, man and nature live in harmony.  The sea is abundant with diverse docile fish species, turtles, sharks and dolphins.  On land, marine birds, “arribaça”, large lizards (teju) and small lizards (mabuia, endemic to the island), toads, frogs and crabs are common.

You will experience unusual, yet unforgettable, situations such as diving in natures own aquariums, watching wild animals calmly cross the streets or perhaps mabuias (small lizards) approaching fearlessly – they know man is not their predator. The island has an uneven topography, with irregular stone pavement on the roads , dirt trails, stones and the smallest highway in all of Brazil.  Appropriate footwear is recommended.  (Runners or Sandals)
