Surf fishing along the coast is extremely popular, and within the next two to three years there are plans to impliment both individual charter and party fishing boats along this coast.   Tennis (in the city), sailing (small boats), water park activities, shopping, and "dune buggying" are all available recreation activities. Sightseeing in the picturesque city of Natal is a favorite treat for a day's outing.  Flying buffs can obtain their license to fly ultra-lights as this is a popular sport.  In a few locations you can rent jet skies or hobi-cats.

Flights are available from Miami, Florida in the United States and from many European countries to northeast Brazil destinations, such as Belem or Recifel.  Most other international flights are routed through Rio de Janeiro or Sao Paulo in order to get to Natal.

Most of the outlying beaches are reached by van or private car.  An excellent public transportation (bus) service is available once you learn the trick of using them.

Portuguese is the primary language of Brazil, but quite a few persons (students and persons serving the tourist industry) speak English.  Natal was the site of a large United States military base during World War II, and quite a few of the older people also speak some English although they lack practical use.  Most of the young people learn some English in school and are crazy to try it out on you.

There are quite a few government run facilities available, and most communities have at least a Poste de saude.  In Natal, there are also quite a few private clinics.

There are quite a few Catholic churches, but in the cities there are also protestant churches of all denominations.
