The Araca camp hosts, Eduardo and Dominigue Prada, experienced internationaly as hotel and fishing camp managers, will reside at the camp during the Peacock season, normally from mid-November thru March. The Araca area has long been a favorite for knowledgeable Brazilian anglers and since last year the camp has been represented by Capt. Donald Reid of Andetur USA as one of his favorite fishing camps.

The camp is dedicated to ecotourism and game fishing expeditions, integrating the visitor and nature as its main attraction.

Fishing Trip or Ecotourism

The great Tucunaré (Peacock Bass) is the highlight of our fishing trips. Together the Apapás, Aruanãs, Bicudas among other fish, they occur in abundance in the Aracá Camp region.

On the other hand, the ecotourism tours happen in the igapós (flooded forest) and igarapés (small creeks) of the region, more fascinating because ofthe native landscape and rich flora and fauna.

Natour is a certified ecotourism company, specializing in sports fishing (catch and release), and brings you into direct contact with the Amazonia forest. Explore the heart of the rainforest and it's rivers, fishing with dedicated professionals, with the best available equipment anywhere in the Amazon.

The program

The Aracá Camp normally operates with groups of 4 to 12 people. Groups smaller than 4 people would be by consultation only. The best time for fishing in the Aracá River is from October to March, or April, taking the advantage of the low level of the waters.

During the high level of the river waters, when the igapós (flooded forests) appear, the landscape becomes still more beautiful than usual, and starts the ecotourism and expedition time from April to September.
