SUMMER TRAVEL GROUP

There are literally thousands of Brazilian youth residing temporarily in the United States, either attending universities, trade schools, or as exchange students.   And like most other young people, when summer recess comes, they want to go home to be with their family and friends.

This becomes a very expensive situation because of the manner in which plane tickets are sold.  Discount fares generally only apply to tickets that are good for a stay of 30 days or less. Tickets that are good for 60 or more days are very expensive.

The one possible solution to this, at present, is group fares.  Group fares usually apply to a large group of people that are travelling in the same direction, at the same time, and all of their tickets are purchased together.  Some tour operators put 'groups' together to travel to a common destination such as a resort, an event such as Carnaval, or to attend a competition of some sort.

Our BRAZILIAN TRAVEL CLUB is trying to negotiate a group travel arrangement for students that will give them a reasonable fare and allow them to stay in the country for 60 - 90 days.

The idea of this arrangement would allow groups of students to leave between May 15 and May 31, each year, and return back to the States between August 15 and August 31.  In principal, if this idea works, the same idea could be applied for major holiday breaks such as Christmas, and Spring Break.

In addition to Students wanting to go home, there are many Brazilians that are married, with families, that like to go back to spend the summer in Brazil.

We are trying an experiment with TAM BRAZILIAN AIRLINES, especially, and the other Brazilian carriers - VASP, VARIG, and TRANSBRASIL - to see if such a plan is feasible.  We are asking that all parties interested in a plan like this submit an application - TRAVEL REQUEST FORM - that we can present during our negociations. 1. Name of your school if applies, and the date school finishes for the semester.  Enter the approximate dates you would be wanting to take your trip to Brazil and return.  And if you will be traveling with anyone, put their names in to as extra passengers.  Any discounts that we get for you will apply to them also.

2. Your complete address, and phone number in Brazil and in the states.

3. How you would be paying for the trip!  Credit Cards, money order, bank transfer, or will your folks in Brazil be paying from down there.  DO NOT INCLUDE ANY CREDIT CARD NUMBERS AT THIS TIME!

We also ask that you also join our E~GROUP - BRAZILIAN TRAVEL CLUB.  We will be placing notices on this group which will be mailed ONLY to those registered to receive them.
