"Like
most capital cities in the northeast, Natal is very likeable and
extremely clean. NASA determined that the air in Natal is
one of the freshest in the world. A city of 600,000 people,
it provides access to about 380 km of coastline in Rio Grande
do Norte State. Natal doesn't currently attract the same
crowds of vacationing Brazilians that cities such as Fortaleza
and Salvador do; consequently, its dune-flanked beaches and fishing
villages remain relatively pristine.
The
local people are extremely friendly, even by northeastern standards,
and some of the older folk speak rudimentary English; the Americans
having established a large airbase here during World War II from
which to attack German stongholds in Africa." ABTC ADVISORY
