The principle objectives of our club is to promote a reasonable and conservative soft adventure ( including 'CATCH & RELEASE sport fishing ), cultural experience and ecotourism. As a certified Brazilian tour operator, we will be establishing a new office in Manaus, in the heart of the Amazon ... the most important natural reserve in the world, to cater to both the fishermen as well as our regular ecotour operations.

AMAZON AND ITS TRIBUTARIES

Almost all of our tours for Peacock Bass and other exotic species in the Brazilian Amazon originate in Manaus, the capital of the state of Amazonas, which is located in the north of Brazil and is one of the entrance gates of our country. The city, today with some two million inhabitants, became the world center for the rubber trade at the end of the 19th century. Many historical monuments, dated from that period, still beautify its streets: the Amazonas Theater, the Floating Docks, the Customs Building (prefabricated in England) and the City Market (a replica of the Les Halles of Paris, made of iron and stained-glass windows).

The tucunarés or Peacock Bass are one of the most sought after species throughout the region. Known for their explosive attack and aggressive nature, this fishery has developed over the last several years and for the devout sport fisherman is an experience of a lifetime. Brazil itself is additive. Add to that, once a fisherman has fished for the Peacock Bass ... he (or she) wants more and more. To protect the species, we practice 'catch and release'. Commercial exploitation of the tucunarés has been stopped throughout the region.

Xingu River (Para) - August thru November

Upper Rio Negro - Araça - November thru March

Pantanal (Golden Dourado fishing) - April through October

BOAT BASED FISHING TRIPS

The fishing season varies throughout the both the Amazon region and the Pantanal depending on the levels of the rivers. In both areas we offer several options. In the Amazon we offer several large yachts and camps that operate during the fishing season as floating hotels, following the activity ... starting in August fishing rivers like the Uatumã, Madeira, Madeirinha, Jatapú and moving north in the Rio Negro basin as the season progresses. Operating from these yachts, we have sophisticated high speed bass boats; with two fisherman and a guide that explore deep into the tributaries.

After the fishing season, starting in March, most of our listed boats will be operated with special cultural and ecotours throughout the Amazon region. Visits will normally be scheduled to coordinate with local festivities.

	Our bassboats are Bass Trackers, or Nitros imported from the USA utilizing motors from 40 HP to 90 HP depending on the areas and range of operations.

Our recommended camps and lodges, which are located in strategic locations throughout Brazil, offer other options .... and are preferred by some fishermen. These operations are all well known and provide comfortable bases for our fishing operations.

Araca Camp - fishing camp on the Aracá River - Presently Closed

This camp, built by Dr. Glaucio Gapski of Research Forest, was operated on the Rio Aracá north of the town of Barcelos by Natour. Safari type tents installed on wooden platforms above the jungle floor, imported Bass Tracker boats ... for a first class fishing experiece. Ideal for those dedicated to flyfishing for peacock bass. Proposed Private Lodge on the Rio Urubu (Not active yet - waiting investors)

Designed to be an ecotour lodge, this was a 'Club Project' and is located 180 KM from Manaus by van on reasonably good all-weather road (then 45 minutes by boat to the lodge).

Itapará River - Roraima

This lodge is well established .... and offers private charter flights from Manaus to the lodge's own air field.

Juma Lodge - Juma River

Combination ecotour and fishing trip on the Juma River close to Manaus. This is an excellent trip for those that have only a limited time to fish and not enough time to participate in our longer boat and camp tours.

Mantega Fishing Home

Floating fishing hotel / lodge on the Rio Teles Pires, near the junction of the Rio São Benedito and the Sete Quedas waterfall. Giant Brazilian catfish and Peacock Bass and other exotic species.
