Artmarina, a charter operaton in southern Bahia state, initial season in Brazil resulted in numerous billfish releases and many overjoyed anglers. They've raised as many as 21 billfish in a full-day charter, adding white marlin and sailfish to the blue marlin, which are really the area's top feature. Of course the largest Atlantic blue marlin, a 1,402 pound monster, was caught in Brazil and they've had several close encounters with fish bordering 1,000 pounds, so you know the Brazilian blues are also BIG!

Os parrachos (ou recifes) podem ser encontrados ao longo do litoral. Alguns deles são áreas de preservação, mas nos parcéis mais afastados a pesca de garoupas e badejos é permitida (e muito produtiva). Navegando um pouco mais, cerca de 15 milhas, há sailfishes, cavalas e dourados. Quem gosta de tucunarés pode ir até a represa de Extremoz, a 17 km de Natal. Os mangues e as praias também são ótimas opções de pesca, com robalos e pescadas.

Dica
Cuidado com o sol em Natal. Por causa do vento constante, fica-se com a sensação de que não está tão quente, mas o uso de protetor é indispensável.

Vara média/pesada de 6,0 a 7,0 pés para linhas de 12 a 30lb, iscas de superfície, meia-água e fundo e vara de surfcasting com comprimentos com comprimentos entre 3,0 e 4,6m para linhas de 6 a 16lb, anzóis tipo Maru-seigo de n° 10 a 20, chumbos tipo pirâmide, gota ou carambola de 40 a 200g.
